Leadership & Character | Charlotte, NC
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Charlotte, NC on April 30, 2018 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- Many of you commented that it is the right time for these conversations and were appreciative that Wake Forest initiated the dialogue. The opportunity to share your personal stories about when you saw character present was filled with great detail and passion.
Two great questions which generated conversation were:
- Is character contagious?
- Can character and leadership be taught?
A surprising takeaway from the conversation was where the Wake Forest spirit derives from, why it persists long after graduation?
There was a sentiment that we have a strong obligation to make sure students continue to be surrounded by and affirmed that Pro Humanitate is a noble and an important tenant to having strong character and leadership qualities.
Finally, Wake Forest should share these opportunities, discussions and gatherings with students; which is being strategized.
