Leadership & Character | DeLeon Springs, FL
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in DeLeon Springs, FL on April 26, 2018 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- In our evening, we talked about our family members, Gerald Ford, Maya Angelou, corporate leaders, and the ways they exemplified and inspired good character.
Important themes we heard:
- We talked about the importance of having values, doing what you say you’re going to do, and treating everyone with kindness.
- How to see and build character in others. Taking this back to Wake Forest, our ideas included encouraging students to reach and broaden their horizons, to encourage students to pursue the act of engaging others in conversation.
- How we can communicate random acts of character on our campus to the greater community. The idea to participate in Project Wake as alumni and friends was a great one!
