Leadership & Character | Greensboro, NC
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Greensboro, NC on July 18, 2018 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- In our evening, we talked about our family, friends, community members and professional colleagues, and the ways they exemplified and inspired good character.
- We talked about the importance of character traits such as courage, consistency, humility, resiliency, kindness and compassion. We also talked about character-defining moments that rise out of tragedy or small, often anonymous, acts.
- We also talked about how to see and build character in others and whether character can be learned. Taking this back to Wake Forest, our ideas included encouraging students to lead lives in the spirit of Pro Humanitate and seek out mentors (family, professors, work colleagues) who are living lives of good character.
