Leadership & Character | Orlando, FL
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Orlando, FL on July 11, 2018 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
We were a multicultural group of strangers. We represent a variety of ages, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. But together, we developed empathy, respect, and understanding for one another. We discussed how character and morality equate and how and when character can be taught. We asked ourselves, “is character 100% of the time, is it innate, can it be redeemed, and is it a choice?” We discussed these ideas that we can take back to Wake Forest:
- Listen more, talk less
- Be an example of good character
- Encourage character in younger generations
- Take time to be empathetic
- Be a servant leader
- Persevere and be determined
- Have humility about our differences
