Leadership & Character | Louisville, KY
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Louisville, KY on October 19, 2018 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- Perhaps the most common theme we saw was just how varied character can manifest itself.
- We found superb examples of character from many places and in many faces.
- It was noted that those we thought possessed character had as much to do with our feeling for what character means as opposed to a wholly prescriptive definition of the word. Why is it that we can easily feel character as opposed to expressly defining it? Over time, there may be aspects of the way we thought of character only to discover this does not necessarily hold true when standing the test of time.
- It was noted we all have character, but the question is how we use it? There was discussion about “genuine” leadership and the responsibility we have to show character as best we can.
