A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Winston-Salem, NC on November 14, 2018 to discuss Leadership & Character.

Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:

  • We discussed how we have all seen character in our younger generations. Children always have something to teach us.
  • Character and Leadership can be defined as not following the beat of everyone else and the willingness to help others no matter who they are.
  • We need civility with those around us and fully understand that everyone is human and has something to bring to the table. We never know what is going on with the person next to us so we need to show compassion and understanding.
  • We should be transparent with our own self and think about “reading backward”.
  • There is more good in this world than the opposite; we are all alike in some way; appreciate what you see everyday; let’s take the next step and continue the conversation.
