Mentorship | Winston-Salem, NC

The Advisory Council for Entrepreneurship met over lunch in Winston-Salem, NC on November 1, 2018 to discuss Mentorship.

Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:

• We shared stories of our family and friends, professional colleagues and managers, and the ways they served as great mentors and inspired positive changes in our beliefs, mind-sets and lives through their invaluable guidance.
• We talked about a mentor’s ability to foster passions and purpose within their mentee during formative times in their lives (often early in their careers) in response to mistakes or in times of need. We spoke about how this often happens when the mentee has not yet realized their needs themselves.
• We also talked about the cyclical nature of the mentor relationship and the power of feeling blessed and paying it forward to the next generation through shared wisdom and insights.
