Career Development | Gladwyne, PA
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Gladwyne, PA on February 6, 2019 to discuss Career Development.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- In our discussion, we noticed that mentors fell into one of two categories, either a family member or someone from our professional lives. Clear overlap was the importance of establishing a connection with someone that helped define our perspective on life and setting achievement goals as an individual.
- We discussed how it was interesting that advice from a father in-law or mother in-law was remembered as a key moment in the development of becoming the individual we are today.
- A significant connection between examples we shared was the growing appreciation for the influence mentors played in our lives and the need to pay it forward for others. The importance of making a connection with others and then expanding that positive influence over time.
