Community | Gladwyne, PA
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Gladwyne, PA on February 28, 2019 to discuss Community.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- A common thread through our conversation was how a person, or a group of people, showed us compassion, were welcoming, and helped create a sense of togetherness for us. Whether through a church group, a physical neighborhood, or the shared experience with fellow students – we have all been welcomed into a community that provided us with a positive example of character, and an opportunity for personal growth.
- We also discussed how our communities can create space for owning our truth, and promote reconciliation or conflict resolution. How they have promoted “growth through fractures”, and provided positive outlets for our natural talents. A number of us mentioned being instilled with more confidence after connecting with a particular community.
