Leadership & Character | Raleigh, NC
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Raleigh, NC on February 15, 2019 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- We discussed a variety of examples of leadership AND character; our group spent time distinguishing between those terms, and noting that our examples spanned the public and the private.
- Many of us chose examples in which one generation (whether our own parents, spouse, or another, unrelated figure) impacted a younger generation with their displays of character. We discussed how this notion of “legacy” is especially important as we think about how campus leadership is shaping each new class of Wake Foresters.
- Many times, acts of leadership or character allow us to affect change on the lives of others.
- We talked about a few of the many, many, “old fashioned” sayings…Life is messy, put on your rainboots. Brighten your corner. Stop inspecting. Do the right thing, and then do it again.
