Community | Winston-Salem, NC
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Winston-Salem, NC on March 6, 2019 to discuss Community.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- We discussed that communities need to have value and substance – it is not just being part of a group. Community does not exist unless you feel valued and experiences are better if you share them. Vulnerability is important to that equation.
- Part of our conversation focused on finding the greatest sense of community in service. Pro Humanitate is something that unites people and is singularly specific to the Wake Forest experience. Naming Pro Humanitate is what brings integrity to the purpose of service. It is the experience of people rallying around a mission that brings the integrity.
- We talked about how we need more civil discourse and how we feel we have forgotten how to disagree agreeably.
