Leadership & Character | Charlotte, NC
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Charlotte, NC on March 25, 2019 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- Character is shown when no one else is looking, in quiet moments and without the expectation of being rewarded.
- A person of character has moral courage and emotional intelligence.
- It’s important to do what is right and stand up for your beliefs regardless of the consequences.
- We must hold fast to being the best versions of ourselves.
- As our conversation continued and we pondered-can we teach character? What is our responsibility? We discussed that it is our responsibility and opportunity to teach and model leaders of character both in our personal lives and for Wake Forest as an institution. It’s organic to who we are and it’s transcendent and vital for our students.
