Leadership & Character | Charlotte, NC

A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Charlotte, NC on May 7, 2019 to discuss Leadership & Character.

Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:

• A common theme emerged as the conversation progressed, that without good Character, one cannot become a Leader.
• Our group shared that some of the characteristics of a leader are: Empathy, Connecting with Purpose, Selflessness, Doing Right without expecting a return (even when no one is watching), Persistence, Perseverance. All these characteristics were reflected in the stories this group shared where they experienced “Character in Action”.
• We also discussed that even though Nature plays a big role in building one’s character, nurture is also a big factor.
• Quite a few of us saw the need to have conversations like these with friends and family.
