A group of Wake Foresters gathered over brunch in Annandale, VA on May 9, 2019 to discuss Leading a Life that Matters.

Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:

  • We discussed several participant’s willingness to do things in college and early in life that you may not have the opportunity to do later.
  • Be open to new experiences and ideas in order to get the most out of life.
  • It is okay if things don’t go as planned – do something, make a mistake, learn from it.
  • There is power in self-discipline.
  • Let go of fear, take risks, take chances – fear holds us back, it is okay to fail, when you fail, you learn the most.
  • Trust your inner voice.
  • Be authentic and true to yourself, be vulnerable and open.
  • How can we guide our children without projecting our own “stuff” onto them.
