Your Third Act | Winston-Salem, NC
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Winston-Salem, NC on June 1, 2019 as part of Camp Third Act to discuss career development and the “third act” of life.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- Early life experiences (our parents, friends, and strangers) can shape us in ways we aren’t even aware of. The model our parents, for example, use to educate and inspire others may be the foundation of your interest to do the same for others personally and professionally.
- Consider your Third Act a gift: the opportunity to define your own definition of success – your heart knows when you’re on the right track.
- Take one step at a time toward your calling – you don’t have to figure it all out at once.
- Failure is not synonymous with disaster, and joy is not synonymous with happiness.
- Don’t be afraid to run toward relationships. We are all stronger than we think we are.
- Incredible quote from the evening about living a life that is authentically yours really resonated with our group: “You’re should-ing all over yourself! Let’s take the word ‘should’ out of our vocabulary!”
