Leadership & Character | Atlanta, GA
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Atlanta, Georgia on July 16, 2019 to discuss Leadership & Character.
Highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- We discussed the true definition of character, who is teaching character and where character comes from. We talked about character showing up through humility and hospitality, but mostly in times of adversity.
- Leaders of great character were described as selfless, empathetic, and will do what’s right when no one is looking. In spite of cultural circumstances and obstacles that may present themselves, there are always opportunities to be an example of good character. We must also be on the hunt to find those people who exemplify quality character. Or as one of our friends so eloquently stated, “your character is only as good as the next time you use it.”
- Lastly, we talked about the influence of college leaders and culture on Wake Forest students.
