Pro Humanitate | Des Moines, IA
A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Des Moines, IA on September 23, 2019 to discuss Pro Humanitate.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
- It is important for us to be grateful that we can help others instead of needing to be helped. This is important as we teach our children empathy, compassion, and the value of helping others.
- We need to embrace the acts of humanity when it happens. For many of our examples of witnessing the cultivation of humanity, we often don’t recognize or act immediately but should learn to in order to set good examples for our children.
- How in our daily lives do we show humility? This was asked as a means of the need to set examples of how to live in the moment and the importance of continuing to learn.
- As for what we hope Wake Forest will do for our students – Help students understand the need to cultivate humanity and the rewards it brings to one’s life.
