Leading Lives that Matter I Winston-Salem, NC
A group of Undergraduate, Graduate Students and Staff gathered over dinner in the OPCD Suite on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, to discuss Leading Lives that Matter.
Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:
During our time together, we shared personal stories that revolved around how we can lead and have led lives that mattered. We discussed what we wanted to be remembered for, whether that be giving back to our community, giving a voice to people who feel oppressed and overlooked, or building strong relationships with those around us. We also talked about the steps we have taken or plan to take in this regard. We talked about the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone and being flexible. We also discussed how doing these things can help you lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Lastly, we talked about how sharing our stories with others can help to bridge gaps, expose similarities, and build friendships that extend over all kinds of divides. I thank you all for the vulnerability and trust you shared with us during this conversation as it allowed for a deeper and more meaningful discussion.
