A group of Wake Foresters gathered over dinner in Atlanta, GA on July 16, 2019 to discuss Leadership & Character.

Overview and highlights of our Call to Conversation:

  • We shared very similar thoughts about leadership and character, while sharing stories about a variety of leaders in our own lives. A few key words that summarize our conversation about leadership and character: humility, speaking up, loyalty, compassion, resilient, redemptive, servant leader, people focused, inspiring, admits mistakes, honesty, forgiveness, self-aware, takes a stand.
  • We all agreed that great leaders are humble and have a way of seeing the future outcome. They do not do anything focused on themselves but more so for the good of the group, cause, or future.
  • One takeaway from our conversation was that we see leadership in a variety of different people – from the top to the bottom. A direct quote from the night was “a leader doesn’t have to be in a position of power.”
